ADO++ Active Directory Objekt Management

ADO++ allows administrators to manage Active Directory objects and their Exchange properties, as this has been possible with the ADUC and the Exchange Extensions in former times. ADO++ covers the important tasks for managing Active Directory objects and their Exchange attributes. No Powershell knowledge is needed to do this.

ADO++ displays the Active Directory objects in a structured LDAP directory tree view or in a flat browser view (similar to the Global Address List in Outlook).

ADO++ users can switch between different views on their Active Directory:

  • LDAP treeview of the structure known from the ADUC
  • List view similar to the Outlook GAL
  • All Users list view
  • All groups list view
  • All Contacts list view

Between the views, the focus can be changed with a mouse click. ADO++ can be used to process users, groups, contacts, dynamic distribution lists, computer objects, and organizational units. In the browser windows, context menus are available and offer meaningfull actions on the selected objects. Additionally, bulk changes can be done on selected objects.

Selecting the Active Directory entry points: In ADO++, the entry points for viewing and managing Active Directory objects can be set in the domain context. This specification is different for objects to be processed and objects to be selected (eg group memberships) separately.

The specific AD container objects Computers, Users and Builtin, and computer objects can be hidden separately.

Searching Objects in the Active Directory

ADO++ has a powerful search engine for finding objects in the Active Directory. After pressing a key, a search window opens to enter a search criteria. An advanced search is also available. In the advanced search, attribute values can be combined for searching. Bulk changes can be performed on search results.

ADO++ advanced features

Beside the standard functions, ADO++ offers a set of tools to facilitate the administrators work:

Bulk / Mass changes

With ADO++, bulk changes can be performed on selected objects in the browser windows or based on the advanced search or selection.

Exchange 2010 Role-Based Access Control - Administration

ADO++ provides a powerfull graphic interface to configure the new Exchange 2010 RBAC access control features. With ADO++, the RBAC features can be used in a GUI without need of powershell knowledge.

  • Edit Roll Groups
  • Edit management role assignments
  • Edit roles
  • Edit Role Entries
  • Edit End-user policies
  • Assigning End-User policies

Recover Deleted Active Directory Items

ADO++ provides a graphical user interface to recover deleted Active Directory objects. The corresponding object is simply selected and restored with one click.

CSV import of user objects

Via graphical user interface, the automated creation of users from CSV files can be done. A mix is possible between data from a CSV-File and date entered in forms.

ADO++ full version additional features

The full version of ADO++ stores its configuration data in an SQL Server database. This may be an existing MS SQL-Server, or even a MS-SQL-Server, based on the free Express Editions. All relevant configuration informations of an user will then be stored in the SQL-Server database. These are the entry points into the Active Directory as well as the rights the user has to manage objects in the Active Directory. The client installation then only needs a SQL-Server selected for getting the configuration.

Full version functional features

  • Creation of individual user profiles for AD administrative access
  • Creation of user templates
  • Logging of all changes AD objects changes on attribute level

ADO++ compatibility

ADO++ is compatible with Exchange2010 incl SP2, Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2003 and supports the languages German and English. ADO++ can be installed on any localized windows and Active Directory.
