ADO++
The new
Software to administrate Active Directory and Exchange objects
Introducing Exchange 2007, Microsoft has changed the administration
of user, groups etc. The administration of the Exchange attributes of an
Active-Directory-object has been separated from managing non-Exchange
attributes. Although belonging to the same object, the attributes must be
administered with two tools: the Microsoft ADUC, and the management console of
Exchange 2007. Additionally the administrator can or has to use the Powershell
with the Exchange-Snapin.
Using ADO++ it is now again possible to administrate all important attributes of
an Active Directory-Object, including the Exchange 2007 attributes, with one tool.
ADO++ also allows the administrator to manage exchange mailboxrights as done in
Exchange 2003. ADO++ displays the Active Directory objects in the directory
hierarchy, like the ADUC, or in a flat Browser structure, like the global
addresslist in Outlook.
Comparing to the Microsoft ADUC, ADO++
has a optimized forms to display attributes and objects. ADO++ is fast when
displaying object searches and offers better utilization of modern higher screen
resolutions.
ADO++ is available
in 2 versions:
The full version of ADO++ with its own usermanagement can be configured
differently for different user. So ADO++ can only show a special part of the
directory for a user. It is also possible to configure the tasks, a user can
perform with the objects. The Interface of ADO++ is very user friendly and can
also be used by less trained admins. All changes on attributes, done with ADO++
are tracked and stored in an SQL database. Integrated report functions can be
used to work with log data. User templates can be created to make creating new
users very easy.
The ADO++ Special Edition works without SQL database and can be used on
computers with Exchange 2007 or 2010 management tools or Exchange 2003 System
Manager installed. The only configuration that needs to be done for the use of
the ADO++ Special edition is defining a domain controller.
